DIPLOMA IN RELIGIOUS FORMATION AND SPIRITUALITY

This programme is specially designed for Religious and priests in the ministry of formation and for those preparing to be formators at all levels (Rectors, Novice Masters/Directresses, Spiritual Directors and Vocation Promoters). It is also ideal for those who have leadership roles in religious communities/parishes, for those who desire to have a deeper understanding of spirituality and religious life and for all who desire personal renewal and spiritual growth.

The programme will focus on the four pillars of Formation suggested by the Church – the Spiritual, Intellectual, Pastoral and Human Formation – with a view to wholeness and integration.

The participants of this programme are capacitated to:

Be in touch with their own personal dynamics and recognize and accept their God given potentials/gifts.
Understand the demands of formation in the African and pluralistic societies of today.
Understand the need of a prophetic formation that the Church and the Society need today.
Acquire skills of Interpersonal Relationships, Counselling and Spiritual Direction.
Attain a certain degree of self-confidence in accompanying others in their journey of life and their psycho-spiritual integration.
Attain a deeper understanding of Spirituality and Religious Life as academic disciplines and lived experience.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

The duration of the Programme is from September to May every year (Nine months). The participants will reside throughout the period of the programme at the Lumen Christi Institute.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

A. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of Secondary School or its equivalent
For those who do not possess a completion Certificate an assessment will be made at the time of admission

B. PERSONAL COMPETENCE

A minimum of 2 years work experience after Ordination or Final Profession.
A fair level of emotional maturity.
Capacity to work well individually and in groups.
Capacity to internalize and integrate experiences.
Speaking and Working Knowledge of English.
As a rule candidates should be in the age group of 30 – 50.

The last date of submitting duly filled form is the 30th of June.

D. FEE STRUCTURE

Subsidized Fee per person: US$ 2,700 or its equivalent in Tanzanian Shilling (Includes boarding, lodging, course fees, study materials etc.) Fees are payable in two instalments in September and January.
